Most of Lineage Independent Publishing’s library has been converted to Amazon’s Virtual Voice Narration (VVN) audiobook format. So far, nineteen of our books have been released and the twentieth is in the middle of the conversion process. Getting used to the conversion software was daunting at first, but it has become like an old friend: I know where it will stumble and can prepare for those situations.
What amazes me is that VVN seems to improve with each conversion. The pacing of the reading is better; the pronunciations are more predictable, and the logic reliably recognizes the difference between read (“reed”) vs. read (“red”) based on the context of the sentences around it. What is even more astounding is that VVN does a passable job with the occasional foreign language word or phrase. Spanish, German, French, and even a little Hebrew have not slowed VVN down at all; I just have to be aware of how to phoneticize the pronunciations it misses, most often by trial-and-error.
Here is a link that will take you to Lineage Independent Publishing’s library on Amazon, our primary retail outlet. Other retailers (e.g., Barnes and Noble, Rakuten/Kobo, Booksamillion, WalMart, electronic library services, among others) have access to our books as well. You can certainly whet your apetite on Amazon and go to your retailer/platform of choice and purchase the book there.
